¿I can use satin binding on a quilt?
My friend wants a baby blanket for her daughter with a satin feel. I already bought the fabric for a quilt and wondered if the union of satin packing can be used to make sandwiches quilt, and if it is difficult to use. I am fairly new to quilting.
* You can use * satin binding. The question is, do you really want? Most quilts are going to look a little strange with a Satin binding. The satin binding require replacement from time to time, a union of the same fabric as the rest of the quilt will last as long as the rest of the quilt. As you might want to do is proceed with the patchwork quilt that had intended and to normal tissue binding on it. Then make a blanket separately with a link to open. I've done dozens of flannel blankets. What I do is buy about 1-1/8 feet double-sided flannel, cut the selvages, and square up the ends so that there is a square that is about 36 "to 38" on one side. Then junction satin regular packed around the edges (you will need 4-1/4 meters from the junction). Marriage is a bit slippery, so you might want to hand baste in place before the sewing machine.

Creating a baby blanket
I recently looked at some art magazines and books and I found a lot of ideas for creating a baby blanket. Decisions, recycling and the creation is fashionable at the moment and is a good time to get stuck in learning a new craft. There are a lot group and website that can help and ideas.
One of the things I saw that really attracted me was a padded quilt, can be cut square pieces of fabric I love you with a color theme or design and sew. Next, put together with the batting and lining fabric is beautiful. You can also make animal shapes, hearts or stars, whatever you want and wall in some places. You could do something beautiful to keep or give as a gift. If the fabric you have collected in recent years, is a great way to use and can be a quilt of memories, especially if you use old clothing or curtains. You need to ensure that the fabric is similar in thickness and washed first if it shrinks.
If you want a less complicated project that you can buy a wool blanket and applications that is customized ways. Also could edge with blanket stitch to tie the colors of the fixtures and if you want to customize it for your baby can embroider your name on it. If you do not want to spend too money on the web. always going to look at your local market first.
If you crochet or appeals for more, you could create a baby blanket easily this way because it is a square or a rectangle of material. If you break, you can crochet or sew squares and a mosaic effect.
If you fancy having a go on a ship and never have done before, you can start with something small and easy as a pin cushion or a bag of lavender. You can then progress to a mattress and then when you feel confident about embarking on a much larger project. Accept that these take a long time and can not be completed in one day but they are great to have long-term project. I think that great things to do while watching TV, on vacation or time off when others can chat and sew together. baby blankets are a good way to start, and although they are a great project, which are much smaller that from a variety of bed one single bed or double size.
