How do I convince my parents to let me redecorate my room?
My mom LOVES antique furniture and completely filled my room with she. the thing is I hate Victorian / antique furniture. my walls and carpet are blue baby. I have tried to cover with posters, but ends up looking bad. my father I accepted it, but my mom is the head honcho and calls the shots. it just means no anywhere else to put the furniture you have now and I used to pay a lot of money for you to redecorate. I am 14 and starting high school in August. my room does not match my style at all and all furniture makes my room look more chaotic than it already is. My style has changed dramatically since the baby blue painted walls and took the same color of the carpet. HHEELPPPPP!!
Show your mom maybe you are responsible for keeping it clean and tidy, help at home, perhaps make your own clothes, etc. (ie if they have not done these things) otherwise may sit down and have a heart to heart talk with your ... say what you feel ... explain that to redecorate their room is what allows him to express and interest in creative ways.
