crib mattress?

my mom just bought my baby a crib. I'm trying to buy a mattress, but I am unsure how to measure it. I go by the measurement of output or size? I have two different set of numbers. i dont have the crib yet, as my mother bought it online .... Can anyone help?

Cots are a standard size, unless she bought you one of the cradles of the circle. If it's just a normal crib, can pick up a mattress anywhere. Walmart has 3 different types, Babies R Us has tons, but if you go there for a mattress, be prepared to spend some money! I went to Walmart.
