Can you describe your work in a plant nursery in the UK or similar place?
I am interested in knowing what is like working in a plant nursery, or something similar related to the increasing spread and gardening ... at work to hours / safety, etc. .. not just links to descriptions jobs, but the accounts of the professionals themselves, if anyone here can spare a minute to briefly describe what they do.
I worked in a childcare as part of my education program in California. It was not what I imagined it would be like. I waited on customers of whom many had no idea what to buy, I watered the plants in the nursery each day with a heavy hose, wearing a hat and long sleeves to protect from too much sun exposure, I distributed the supplies out on the tables. I helped load people into buying their vehicles. It was mostly physical labor, a lot of walking on cement, low pay and few hours, not for me, very satisfying. I also worked in a greenhouse, while going to school that I liked, but I knew I would not continue from the first hours there were few and low wages. It was very quiet, peaceful work. I planted seeds, transplanting, watering, flower pots ready, and was working in a breeding project where specific pollinated varieties together.
