Want to get another boxer (dog) or recommend one to a friend?
I just want to know the pros and cons of the breed. I know I need exercise. I have a great patio and live on a path for walking and have open fields around me. What about their behavior and how they are around children and other dogs (I have a hunting dog who thinks he is a carpet ... very lazy). They are beautiful dogs, but I know someone who has owned one.
I would only recommend one to one owner of a dog with experience, who is seriously committed to training and exercise of this breed. They are happy, active, leaping dogs, they need plenty of exercise and stimulation to prevent boredom. When bored, chew, bark, dig, climb and fences. They are intelligent, so they require more training races that many do. Your Basset is likely to be very sad to have a boxer bouncing all over it! If exercised and trained properly, are very friendly with humans and other animals, but I would not recommend one for a home with small children, because they are likely to impact children more regularly. They are great for children that outweigh them.
