How do you account for the hire purchase / sale of contingent payment without maximum sales price determined?
I sold a software copyright in a sale contingent payment - In advance of $ 30K plus 50% of revenues for a period of 3 years. There is a maximum price specified in the contract. What do I put on Form 6252 (installment sale), line 5 for the price of sale, since it is not known in this fiscal year? Best I can say, I have to submit an estimate, or the fair market value. Is that correct?
